As a magistrate he is one of the personalities who has most contributed to shaping the Italian and European IT-legal culture in relation to cybercrime. From 1992 to 2003 he was deputy prosecutor at the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome, dealing with audiovisual and computer piracy, protection of privacy, computer fraud, abusive access to computer and telematic systems. Contact person for Italy and member of the national contact point (2009/2021) for the implementation of the Budapest Convention on cybercrime, in 2019 he was member for Italy of the UNODC Expert group on Cybercrime and government expert in the works of the G8 group in Berlin on the topic Security and confidence in Cyberspace. Computer expert, university professor, he has numerous publications to his credit. Since January 2021 he has returned to legal practice as a lawyer.
